My thoughts on that are not printable. Which is saying something. About the best you can say is, at least it wasn’t Wesley Fucking Crusher. (Wisely, I see the concocter of this has omitted WFC’s name from the list — if I were told I was Wesley, I would be sorely tempted to hunt down and exterminate the makers of the quiz; or at the very least draw an offensively satirical cartoon of them.) I would not have minded Bones McCoy, but Beverley Crusher?

Incidentally, why does James T. Kirk have an explanatory (Captain) after his name while Picard does not?

I was tempted from that one to this:

That one, I can live with. I was just wondering, there, what sort of person would come up as Jayne Cobb... and then I started chortling at the thought of the song about The Man Called Jayne. Hehehe.

Hello dear

Hey DC you must be my missus 'cos I got "Wash" in the Serenity quiz (only kidding Jean)- that was a bit of a surprise (am I destined to meet an untimely end?). I got "Deanna Troi" in the Trek one - a bit nearer the mark, especially in the film versions (the hair's the same and I like chocolate and a drink). ROFLMAO at your vitriol on WFC - like him about as much as Neelix do you? Heh heh. In an accurate Trek quiz I would be 50/50 Jadzia Dax and Lxwanna Troi I reckon. Who else do you despise in Trek? At the moment with me its gotta be Malcolm Reed (son of Frankie Howerd), closely followed by Julian Bashir(and both English - oops). But my heart belongs to Trip (and Sisko and Will Riker) :)

If I’m your missus, that makes me the boss, as I recall from that relationship. So behave! :o)

Now, there’s a tricky question. You have WFC and Neelix, and only one airlock — who do you space first, and why? (Of course, if Janeway is there, she goes first, no question.)

I don’t mind Reed or Bashir much. (They actually remind me of people I have known.) I used to find Nurse Chapel irritating as hell. Difficult enough to believe she was a nurse, let alone that she went on to be a doctor in ST:TMP. Trip’s OK, the problem with Archer, Sisko and Riker is thay they are all a bit bland. Travis what’s-his-name on Enterprise is bland and he has terrible taste in women, to judge from the lump of wood he was shagging on Sunday.

I am getting very bored, though, with the way every Star Trek series has to have some character who is logical but has to come to terms in some way with emotions and interacting with humans.

Re Neelix and WFC and the airlock scenario - it has to be Neelix. WFC had the grace to push off from TNG for long periods. Sisko? Bland? It's obvious you are a heterosexual man - ooh aar missus. But you are right about Travis Mayweather - very poor.

I have to challenge you on Nurse Chapel - it was Maj after all, and that redeems her a bit.

By the way, Zoe is a total robot and now that Wash is gone, she'll get worse. But even as a woman, I say Gina Torres is hot. Pity none of the men on Serenity are remotely shag-worthy - only the costars (like yer man from Law and Order in "Objects in Space").

Live long and poptart, Jeanne
(PS - Jean, I now you are reading this over his shoulder - is this an OK discussion - feel free to contribute)

Hmm, yes, Neelix does have that added irritant factor of always hanging around, but WFC while present contributed at least seven seasons’ worth of annoyance. Sisko looked good, I will grant you that, but the character is bland — a problem not confined to him, the “bureaucrats in space” feel of most of the new series gave us a lot of bland characters.

The big problem with Nurse Chapel was exactly that she was Maj, who couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag — not in the Sixties, anyway; she did improve later on, in both TNG and B5. (She could do the computer voices quite well, though.)

Zoe’s no robot; just has a lot of self-control. I much prefer Gina Torres as Zoe than as a goddess. I’ve never seen Law & Order, it is a good job “Objects in Space” doesn’t exactly have a huge guest cast. :o)

I think Jean’s bemused...
