Witchfest Scotland will take place in Glasgow on Saturday 8th July, this year moving to a much better venue, The Arches in Argyle Street (under the Hielanman’s Umbrella). As usual, there will be a selection of talks and workshops, stalls, an alternative fashion show, and entertainment in the evening. The new venue means that there will be no more sweltering, near-sauna like rooms, and the food available is vastly improved; there also will be no racket from the Orange Lodge thundering past. :o)

As always, Witchfest Scotland is organised by the Hearth pub moot (see Glasgow Moots for more information) in association with Children of Artemis.

The main problem I forsee with the venue is the parking/unloading situation for stall holders/traders....

I think there is a loading bay which is accessed from the Midland Street end of the Arches, under Central Station.

Yes, I’m sure I have seen stuff being unloaded there (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=258730&y=665020&z=1&sv=258750,665250&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf) — there would have to be something of that sort, given the number of exhibitions and shows they put on.

“Under Central Station” is probably not hugely helpful in finding it, as there are three streets under there. :o)
