Face of horror
May. 16th, 2006 05:45 pmThe BBC News 24 screw-up where they somehow managed to get a chunky black guy who is clearly not English on screen to comment on the Apple v. Apple thing under the impression they had well known techno-journo Guy Kewney (who is not black, not chunky, and clearly has English as his first language) is about to be featured on Five News, any minute now.

Date: 2006-05-17 04:41 am (UTC)I did wonder when I first heard about this story if his name would turn out to be Guy (which would explain why he said “Yes” when the BBC bod came for Guy Kewney), and sure enough his name is Guy Goma, and he was there for a job interview. When he was plonked down in front of a camera and asked questions about the Apple v. Apple case, he thought it was part of his interview; given some of the silly stuff that’s done in job interviews these days, that isn’t a stupid assumption. He went for it with impressive gusto.

It was good to run across you here and your blog looks interesting; that post on the creation myths was very interesting. Nice to (sort of) meet you too. ;o)
