Truly moronic
It’s nice to know (sarcasm, yes) that when it comes to making completely moronic decisions, the politicians are by no means the only players in town. The SFA has just demonstrated that they can be even more bloody stupid than you would believe. They have decided that the Scottish Cup semi-final on April 2nd will be held at Hampden. (Scotsman report.) That’s the Scottish Cup semi-final between Hearts and Hibs.
So about 50,000 football fans will have to travel from Edinburgh to Glasgow at a time when there is expected to be engineering work going on on the Glasgow-Edinburgh line, then travel to Hampden by the local trains, which even with six carriages are not huge. Then there is the return journey, of course. It’s going to be bloody awful, even if there is no trouble.
The SFA say that they need to use a neutral venue — true enough, but Murrayfield is not only available, it was actually offered for the SFA’s use for the semi. Can it be the case that (despite their denials) the SFA simply don’t want to see the SRU make money out the fixture?

Why is so much preference given to these idiots who cannot get a life of their own but have to obsessively watch overpaid morons kick a ball about a field?

It's interesting that this bit of information is missing from the report you link to.
[thinks: I don't think I'll be stewarding that one - luckily it clashes with Beltane practice on Calton Hill - as soon as I can arrange it!]

I am sure the Beltane practice is the place to be. :)
